Walking Through Digbeth and Its Canals

A PRISM Project

Exhibition opening:

Centrala, Digbeth

7 August 2026, 5pm

PRISM is curating a new photography project that celebrates the beauty and culture of

Digbeth and the Birmingham canals. The project unfolds through two complementary approaches. Three lead photographers will guide small groups on canalside photowalks, tracing routes from the city centre through Digbeth to Spaghetti Junction, with the support of Nick Cleaver from The Canal and River Trust, while a group of visual artists are creating a more intimate response to Digbeth and its communities through photography, recorded interviews and poetry.

All of this work will come together in an exhibition at Centrala, opening on 7 August 2026.

You can be part of it: book a place on one of our photowalks and seize the opportunity to show your work alongside inspiring photographers. More details here.
